Landscapes Within Paintings | 8-paged Zine
Landscapes Within Paintings is an 8-paged zine deliverable. It speaks on how artists see the natural world, from the perspective of painters and my own experience, expressed through images of paintings, textures, illustrations and the voices/thoughts of the painters themselves.
Project Overview
This zine is focused on the integration of text and image, while also utilizing hierarchy to organize information. I chose to incorporate the sayings and information about a few artists that I like. It is a visual essay about what the act of painting means to different artists.

Project Goals
1. Create a zine, translating personal narratives into a visual form.
2. Experiment with layout, pacing, and storytelling.
I started by creating a grid structure for the zine. Using InDesign, I brought in the text from the sources and the artist images that I illustrated. I wrote my own experience on the first spread. I experimented with the layout across the spreads.
I then focused on integrating text with the images and observing if the typeface selection communicated with the context and audience.
